About PF Queensland

An overview of the work with Queensland prisoners, ex-inmates and their families.
About Prison Fellowship Queensland

Prison Fellowship Qld is active in each of Queensland’s 13 Correctional Centres with 20 Chaplains and approximately 200 Accredited Volunteers. The Chaplains are engaged in diverse in-prison services including Chapel Services, Counselling, Concerts and Sport. The volunteers outside assist in programs like Post Release Transport, Family Support and Angel Tree.
Our annual Angel Tree Program demonstrates how we connect our chaplaincy service with the church community to produce practical support for inmates and their families. PFQ arranges a Christman gift to be given to children of inmates on behalf of the parent in prison. In 2007, we delivered over 1000 gifts and hampers.

PFQ is also endeavouring to establish Restorative Justice Programs in Qld Prisons in liason with the Qld Corrective Services. These programs give offenders the opportunity to face the reality of their actions, hearing the victims story & visa versa, and giving opportunity for the expression of sorrow for actions, forgiveness, restitution and reconciliation.
