Angel Tree

Christmas Presents for prisoners' children

Children of prisoners are at greater risk of turning to a life a crime than other children.

They are more likely to be neglected, in financial need, and many drop out of school.

The children of prisoners are greatly impacted by the consequences of their parent’s imprisonment.  They often grow up feeling abandoned, isolated, and unloved.

Prison Fellowship SA is helping to reverse these trends by buying a local prisoners’ children special Christmas gifts in the name of their incarcerated parent.

Through Prison Fellowship's Angel Tree® program, PF purchases two brand new gifts.

These gifts go a long way to sending the important message to the children that they are indeed loved and missed by their absent parent during what can be a difficult time of year for them.

“A strong bond between parent and child is essential for the emotional health of a child,” explains Helen Glanville Prison Fellowship State Executive Director, “that fragile bond can be easily shattered when a parent becomes incarcerated.

The Prison Fellowship Angel Tree® programme is one way to help restore that important relationship.”

The pain of separation for the children of prisoners and their families is excruciating and at Christmas this is especially so.  Those in prison have neither the money nor the mobility to provide gifts for their children as others do.

Will you help us help them?

Can you be a little angel?

We need as many sponsors as possible to adopt a child at $30 per child.

Come on and be an Angel this Christmas!
