Prison Art Competition 2006
The annual art exhibition was held at the Wesley Arcade on Tuesday the 13th of June. It was officially opened by Mr Ron Nikkel who is the World President of Prison Fellowship International.
The annual art exhibition and competition aims to promote art as a means of building self expression and self esteem, as well as being a positive means of developing skills and talents - among prisoners and ex-prisoners in the country.
Beginners or more accomplished artists are invited to submit works that were based on an interpretation of the theme. The theme for this year was "Desert Times"

Winning entries are sent on for judging by Prison Fellowship Australia with other arts works from each state and territory. This took place in Sydney recently.
Categories are Paintings, Drawings and Applied Art with First prize of AUD$100 and second of AUD$50 cash awarded in each category.
